Mutual Oil launches website
We're excited to announce the launching of our website www.mutualoil.com.
We've spent a lot of time developing the site and believe that we've
just scratched the surface of what it can become. Some of the
information you'll find includes:
- Our busines
- Company history
- Our people
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
- Our brands
- Our transportation business
But
wait... there's more! We've included a scetion called
"Dealer Resources". In here you'll find, by state, many of the
important contacts including names, phone numbers, addresses and
websites of those that impact your business. In addition, we've
included the link to the UST division of the environmental agencies and
in some cased we've included the UST regulations themselves in
downloadable form.
But wait... there's more! We've created a marketplace for dealers, called the DEALER X-Change, where anyone can post
items they are interested in buying or selling. This marketplace
is wide open to everyone - dealers, vendors, distributors...
Furthermore it is not limited to Mutual Oil customers or bound by
any state lines. The idea is to create a place, which currently
does not exist, for people in our business to come together
and buy/sell items.
There
is no charge to use the DEALER X-CHANGE. Mutual does not take a
commission on anything bought/sold. We don't even get involved
with bringing the parties together. We have simply created a
forum for individuals to see what is available.
I
urge you to take a look and give it a try. We will be promoting
the X-CHANGE through the various regional and national associations to
which we belong. Over time we expect that there will be postings
from all over the country.
Check it out! |

Federal ethanol tax credit to be reduced effective January 2009
Beginning January 1, 2009, the federal tax credit for ethanol
blends is reduced from 51 cents for every gallon of ethanol mixed with
gasoline to 45 cents (5.1 cpg to 4.5 cpg for E-10 blends). The
reduced rate is the result of changes made by Congress in the 2008 Farm
Bill. Under the bill, the 51 cpg tax credit rate is reinstated
anytime the IRS makes a determination that eithanol production for the
previous calendar year falls below 7.5 billion gallons.
The IRS recently announced that ethanol production for 2008 is
estimated to be 11.1 billion gallons. As a result, the federal
ethanol tax credit rate is reduced to 45 cpg beginning January 1, 2009. |

The Pinnacle Awards
The
Pinnacle Awards is Mutual Oil's annual event
where we recognize those customers who have purchased a
minimum of 1,000,000 gallons at their respective sites during the past
calendar year. This year, the awards dinner was held at the new
MGM Grand at Foxwoods on Saturday October 4th.
While
the evening is intended to honor the achievements of our highest volume
customers, it is also an wonderful opportunity for our Suppliers,
office staff, drivers and customers to mingle with each other
away from our respective places of business. It is
truly one of the best nights of the year.
In
addition to an evening of food, drink and
entertainment, those customers that are invited are awarded a
beautiful plaque commemorating their acheivement.
Most dealers proudly display their award or multiple awards
on the walls of their offices and strive to achieve an invitation each
and every year.
Past
venues include the Newton Marriott, The Spirit of Boston Cruise
Lines, Spring Valley Country Club and Foxwoods Resort and Casino.
